Chanel - 529 Graphite

My ribcage injury still making me wish I was born a boneless worm (I barely can sleep at night and every slight move is a storm of pain) I really needed something to cheer me up. Going through my dozens (and dozens) of recent (and still untried) purchases, my choice went to Chanel "Graphite". At first you know, I thought only purchasing "Peridot" from the last Chanel collection that I saw here and that's what I did. The choice seemed obvious as "Peridot" was quite destinated to be the standout. But when I saw "Graphite" in person, my vision diametrically changed and the apparently discreet dark grey won me with its mysterious elegance and took the standout place. I grabbed it along with "Quartz" (that looked so flattering on me) which I will also be featuring soon.

"Graphite" might appear like one more dark grey shimmer (this is what I thought before seeing it) but it's a bit more complex than that. This is a semi sheer (but opaque in 2 coats) dark grey base loaded with intensely sparkling particles. Not a pure black+white grey, it looks to me like it has some golden shimmer giving a slight platinum undertone to the polish. Very unique and warming. The undertones reminds me more of pyrite than graphite material actually but it doesn't matter, it's just me being picky with words again. Whatever happens, I find it immensely chic on my nails. Rock and classy.

The formula of the polish was nothing but easiness. I didn't even need a clean-up. The first coat applied well (even if sheer) and dried fast. So did the second. And finally it was no need for a third coat. Ten minutes after having applied the second coat, I could go frolic carelessly have a cautious walk without fearing a dent on my nails. I'm wearing it here without topcoat, as ever. So far I've had it for 3 days now and still no tip wear. The alchemy has always been fantastic between Chanel polishes and me, yet I know every brand behave completely differently depending the persons. Texture talking, the surface of the polish is very smooth, no feeling of grittiness whatsoever.

The first day I tested it, I had it on only one nail and as I was outside, surrounded by the fields and the fantastically colored sky of the end of the day, I could see the sunset reflected on my nail. It was grey and blue and purple and pink and orange. That was magic, I wish I could have captured this moment. "Graphite" like a sparkled encrypted mirror captures every light, every shadow, every color and change according to every light. Magic, really magic. There is a lot of pictures, I know. But it's well deserved.

Barry M - Pure Turquoise Nail Varnish

I have only started using coloured nail varnish this year as I have been an acrylic addict! I really thought hard about buying this colour as I needed something a bit different . At first I didn't like this colour but I think its because I wasn't used to having colour on my nails anyway. I really like this colour now. Its different and I think it is a really nice colour. I am thinking about using this colour with a lilac and creating the half moon effect that's become really big for nails. Again like all Barry M varnishes it comes out really thick so I don't tend to apply two coats and it stays in a good condition for a while on your nails before it chips. Keep a look out this week if you want to get your hands on the Urban Decay Naked Palette for free!

BarryM - Shocking Pink Nail Varnish

First is Barry Ms nail varnish in Shocking Pink. Its absolutely gorgeous! It goes on really thick so only one coat is needed and the colour is amazing. Its a hot pink and I think it is one of the prettiest colours I have seen. I usually apply this if I have a night out as I think hot pink is a sexy colour lol I actually got this from Boots when it was the 3 for the price of 2 on all of their beauty products... I am already half way through this so I may need to repurchase it as I just love it so much. My pictures really don't do it justice. If you are a girly girl or you have a night out coming up Id definitely recommend this colour for the WOW factor!

Summer Nail Varnishes

Hello "Beautiful People" I'm going all Chris Brown on you... I do love that song I must say. I'm slowly getting back to being my normal self. I have had a pretty tough month, I officially hate the month May! So now we are in June I am feeling more positive. Today's post is Summer nails. I have picked 3 of my favourite nail varnishes that I think are perfect for the summertime. Sorry for the poor pictures the lighting in my bedroom is awful and I'm not really able to move much without being in pain so I couldn't fiddle around...I do apologies but other post will be better as I am writing up 3 at once for you all.

Nicole by OPI CVS Exclusives

Today I have seven Nicole by OPI CVS exclusives to share with you guys. These seven new shades are only available at CVS stores and consists of three metallic shades and four gorgeous cremes. Feeling Grapeful is a bright purple creme. 2 coats. I really like this one, it leans more towards the fuchsia family. I Sea You and Raise You is a bright ocean blue creme. 2 coats. I love seeing bright colors for the Fall! Marooned in Paradise is a maroon creme with very slight hints of shimmer. 2 coats. In the bottle this looked like a maroon creme, but applied on nail you can see the tiny tiny tiny hints of shimmer on the nails. Very interesting! Don't Overpink It is a girly bubble gum pink creme. 2 coats. I'm not really sure but this sort of applied like a jelly base polish. But it's not quite jelly enough to be classified as a jelly finish.

Always a Silver Lining is a metallic silver with tiny specks of holographic shimmer. 3 coats. This one is a little sheer,  but three coats is enough for the nails. I was really surprised with this one. The bottle looks like a plain boring silver metallic, but as I was applying it on my nails it was showing these holographic specks that were not noticeable on the bottle! Personally Speaking... is a metallic rosey mauve. 2 coats. Look at the shine to this one! A Pinker Shade of Pale is a metallic pale pink. 2 coats. The formula for these were good. I only had trouble with two of the metallic polishes, as no matter how careful I did it, there was still visible brush strokes on the nails. But the colors are gorgeous, and I did like almost all of this collection. Always a Silver Lining was my favorite of the whole collection. Which one of these do you like?

Today I think I'm gonna do the request that Ale wanted me to do. I'm curious how it will look. I love nail art. Well, here you will find anything you need to know about nails and also my nail designs and I hope you will like it. Enjoy! And thank you for your visits and comments. Have a nice week! Promises of Spring's Come Back

Every year, I'm craving for Spring to be back. I always felt I was never born to live autumns and winters. We're slowly attaining the end of February. Strange month of lost memory. I never remember February and I have no souvenir of something happening to me during this time in my life. We're at more than six months of constantly grey sky and it was starting to get a dent on my general moods and my apparently unbreakable mute optimism. It's been almost a decade that I'm randomly repeating inside my head that I'm leaving everything to install and definitely live in Los Angeles. I also feel this way when the summer is sunless. Obviously, L.A. is just an unattainable dream for so many practical reasons but it's one of those maintaining me in hope. Just like the promise of spring's come back. I was happy to see some days ago that the crocus flowers were in bloom. We also had the first day of full sun of the year. Cold still, but sunny nonetheless. Birds have started to sing joyfully again. It is as if everything was slowly going out of torpor and I really don't need more to feel a bit happy. Just a post showing some photos I took on this sunny day. It's all about flowers. Just looking at them makes me feel good and happier.

Pretty Serious - CGA

Well howdy, there! Been a bit busy lately, so I've been late showing you a few more of Pretty Serious line. Most bloggers have beaten me to the punch already, but I thought CGA hasn't had a lot of love, so here it is! I thought it looked rather spiffy with my new ring. CGA (IBM reference, anyone?) looks pink, but in actuality is more of a lavender/mauve with a delicate light blue flash. This is two coats, but I think maybe I should have done three as I can see a little bit of VNL in these pics. The application is easy and it dries nice and fast, too. Ooh, so pretty! I'm not much of a pastel pink/mauve kind of person, but this was a really nice surprise. Now I want to try the matching lip gloss, too! Another shot with the ring, cos they make such a good team. Kaz hits it out of the ballpark, again! She made me like pastels! You can get CGA (and it's matching lip gloss and eyeshadow fashion inspiration) over at Pretty Serious for $9.95.
